Life as I Know It; Family; Lifestyle; and Healthy Living!
for us grown ups!

Picture the following scenario:

You’re on a date (Especially for us married folks)

Your car is valet parked

You enter the building

You dropped off your kids in play room that’s supervised by the staff.

You go to the bar and order two glasses of your favorite wine

You might order some pizza or popcorn shrimp or something just as tasty from the menu in order to have a light meal

You sit down in a very comfortable chair and finally get a chance to sit and take in the beautiful scenery unfolding around you in the spacious lobby….

You admire the chandelier –style lamps, the wonderfully ornate décor and enjoy the ambience

You can either finish off your meal or take the food in with you ….

Where are we?

You guessed it…we’re at the movies!

Not too many people are going to the movies anymore so the companies that offer this kind of entertainment have to think of new and interesting ways to get people to leave their homes to see a movie.

There are megaplexes, multiplexes and the smaller chains of movie theatres; the latter are planning to create a place with amenities such as those mentioned above for people go watch the movies at their movie theatre and not at their rivals.

We’re talking the movie going experience for adults’ folks, ADULTS! No kids, as you read above, there will be designated areas to leave the kids (if you can’t get a sitter) and you can actually go on a date, just the two of you!

No noisy patrons because the staff will actually go up to someone and tell them to be quiet or (I’m assuming) show them the exit if they don’t – wow! Now I would definitely attend a movie theatre that does that.

While these types of movie theatres are being planned there will be upscale improvements to many others or new ones being built so that everyone can have a better movie going experience and actually want to go to the movie and not just stay home to watch it on DVD.

Here’s the full story!

That sounds wonderful!  My youngest is 12, so a baby sitter is not a problem.  But  movie with no kids?  now that is a dream!

My husband and I have decided that we're going to have ourselves a date night once a week.  Even if we're only going for a walk by ourselves, we're determined to get away from the kids for an afternoon or an evening and enjoy each other's company.

This movie theater you and the article describe sounds about perfect and I don't know why someone didn't think of it years ago!  I know I'd definitely frequent a place like that....a sitter, a place to have dinner and a drink before the show, a comfortable seat instead of those tatty fold downs that have springs to poke your butt the whole movie long...sounds to me like grown-up movie utopia!

Oh yeah, I can just picture it now.....I can't wait either because I would be there a lot! But wouldn't that really be great to be able to attend without all the teenagers around! I love kids but I want some grown up time!

This is great! I've been talking about that with my hubby but so far nothing done towards that yet. But I'm planning to make it happen because it will be up to me to do it. Typical male response.."you plan it"! I hope you get to do it, I know it will be great for both of you!

Excellent plan! We try to do this too. I've heard of too many couples staring at each other after the kids are gone and wondering if they have anything else in common. Besides... I like having him all to myself.

The theatre sounds like a great idea to me! Hopefully one day the idea will bear the words... "Coming soon... to a theatre near you..."

I think this is a great idea for ANYONE who doesn't want to have their movie interrupted by screaming kids, or obnoxious arseholes on cell phones, plus it adds the nice dinner to it. This is the perfect date movie experience for anyone who can sit still and behave for a few minutes (I know many adults who wouldn't be able to handle it).

I would love to have a place like that near where I live. Good food, good atmosphere, and hopefully a good movie. It would be neat to see people dressing up to go to the movies again too.
