“Have a happy period” so says the narrator (is that what the person voicing a commercial is called?) at the end of the Maxi Pad commercial. Are they kidding me?!

Yeah Right!

Let’s see….break out like a teenager!

Cramps!

Bloating!

Cravings!

Going to the bathroom eons of time in one day!

More cramps…..

More cravings…..

Even more bloating….

PMS with major tude!!!

Grrrrr!!! Snap!!!!

Oh and let me not forget….more BM than you want to have…like taking a laxative…in one day!

Yeah, have a happy period!

In their dreams!

Then again….the only way to “have a good period” is to feed on chocolate the entire time….then I’m happy! Yum!

That's been Dave's reaction recently. He thought that he was done when I had a hysterectomy...then Shea started her periods and caught him off guard. We were buying 'supplies' for her the other day and Dave said "Holy cats this stuff's EXPENSIVE!!!!" (which it can be). He doesn't quite know how to deal with her.....so he just shoves chocolate at her or lurks in the background trying to remain under her radar.

Unless you were worried about being pregnant, there is no such thing as a 'happy period'! I think that the people who made the commercial were obviously male....no self-respecting female would have come up with that slogan.

It's never easy for dads is it? The poor dears often don't know what to do when it comes to their wives let alone their little darlings! And yes those darn things have gotten pretty expensive especially if you want the good type!

Heavens to betsy! I already took care of that problem...permanently!

My thoughts exactly....only a man and a man who doesn't live with a woman would come up with that!

Happy Period my foot. My poor dad had 2 daughters, and 9 yrs later finally got a son. We even had a female dog and cat. My poor dad was out numbered and dictated by the monthly demons.

This will be my first period off of the pill. We will see how "happy" it is....I know so far my overall mood has improved, but hell week is still a week and a half away!

Poor dad! It was like that for my dad too. My poor brothers bore the brunt of us girls as well!

good luck to you. When I stopped taking the pill my cycle changed terribly. Expect heavy flow and very bad cramps the first couple of months until your body gets back to "normal" without the pill. I say go and buy two chocolate bars in preparation for this!!

I know I get wayyyy too emotional as well during my cycle...Two good things however, about upcoming periods: one, already mentioned, is having a good excuse to go overboard on the sweets, and the second one, well, finding that those crazy hormones get the sex drive into high gear
