Our lives are in their hands!

Once again someone's life is in jeopardy because of the ruling handed down by a judge who just didn't give a damn!

Yvette Cade was set on fire by her husband. She is now fighting for her life!

Ms. Cade went to the Courts to extend an Order of Protection she had against her abusive husband. She wanted Judge Richard Palumbo to even grant her a divorce but he wouldn’t. I heard the tape on television this morning and he wasn’t even considerate to her, he sounded really condescending!

Instead of advising her on where to go and what she needs to do to obtain the help she needs he ridicules her and dismisses the Order of Protection!

He made one fatal error, he didn’t care. If he did care he would have handled Ms. Cade’s case in a much different manner.

Here’s a link to the report I saw this morning. Link

I wrote a blog recently about the Supreme Court Justices asking whether they were for us or against us (the public). Link

Judges are there to serve the communities and to decide on the fate of many who come before them. They have such powers in their hands, powers that can and will change the lives of anyone who looks to the Courts for justice.

When a Judge behaves like this, when he no longer cares, he should be disrobed because it shows he can no longer be impartial and decided cases justly.

Once again someone pays the price of such ignorant rulings; this is a blatant disregard for someone’s life!

Sorry FS but you are wrong only on this point. Here's a quote from the linked article.

Palumbo responds: "I'd like to be 6'5", but that's not what we do here. You have to go to divorce court for that."

Well then you're in the wrong place," Palumbo says. "Get a lawyer and go to divorce court."

Now granted everything else this fool did was just plain wrong! But not this. And his comment about wanting to be 6'5" was ALSO wrong. But he's not her lawyer, is he?

Granted drmiler, he said the words, but he said it in such a manner she didn't "hear" them. If he had taken the time to say it differently, that would have been different. He was just downright condescending and quite unsympathetic to her reasons for wanting a divorce. It's not what he said, but how he said it.

Doc is right, and so are you.  The Judge was just plain wrong. I dont think a protective order would have helped her tho as if you are going to commit murder, you are not going to worry about a court order.  Still, the reason for a protective order is so you can call the police before harm is done.

Nope, it's on her. It was said, although incorrectly. If she "chooses" not to hear it then, that's on her. If it was to go to court in front of a different judge on this item, want to take a guess on who would win? But no matter what you and I say, he was wrong. I would be more than willing to bet she went into court without a lawyer. Dumb move. A person who represents themselves in court has a fool for a client.
