Life as I Know It; Family; Lifestyle; and Healthy Living!

As we go about our daily lives in the hustle and bustle of activities planned or unplanned, remember to take deep breaths if you should feel overwhelmed.

In our hectic world as we try to live our lives sometimes things don't go as we plan or as we want them to. Although it’s hard not to, don't feel disappointed. Sometimes it's just not time for you to receive that blessing you seek. It's not your time.

Don't ever think that your life is hopeless or you're meaningless, you're such an integral part of this world, of your world, or else you would not be here.

Whatever deity or God you believe in, whatever your faith (or lack thereof), remember to take time to be thankful for your blessings. There is so much to be thankful for even when it all seems to be so impossibly hopeless. Just remember there is someone out there who loves you and that's why you'll always be an important part of this equation.

This is the time of year when it gets especially hard for some people. When everyone else is happy they are sad. People go through experiences in life that throw them off course from that life they should really be living.

We get distracted by the infinite details of our lives. We need to live in each moment and leave the pain and sorrows behind. It's hard to do, I know; I also know more than I want to about sorrow and I know it's not an easy thing to shake when you’re depressed.

But you know what I say? It’s ok if you feel a little sad, a little empty inside when you think about a loss in your life (that loss doesn’t have to be someone who died, it could be anything). However, it is very important to remember to pick yourself up and get back on that path to wellness and forgiveness. You have to learn to forgive yourself for mistakes that you have made. We’re not all perfect. Anyone who says they are is in denial.

Gosh I’m reflective today! I plan to enjoy this season and hope you all will too. Gather your family and friends, all your loved ones around you, and if you don’t have anyone, if someone you don’t really care for invite you to go somewhere, just go. You never know what that might lead to. My philosophy in life is everything happens for a reason. It is up to you to make something positive of every moment. So my JU friends I end my little reflections here. I was just in a reflective mood and if I have helped someone out there who needed to read this, then my job is done. I’m off for the next couple of days and plan to enjoy every minute.

I like to read the prayer that I’m posting below. It’s so calming and reassuring. I hope you enjoy it.

______________
"
God grant me the serenity

to accept the things I cannot change;

courage to change the things I can;

and wisdom to know the difference.

Living one day at a time;
Enjoying one moment at a time;

Accepting hardships as the pathway to peace;

Taking, as He did, this sinful world

as it is, not as I would have it;

Trusting that He will make all things right

if I surrender to His Will;

That I may be reasonably happy in this life

and supremely happy with Him

Forever in the next.

Amen.

And this verse:

Trust in the LORD with all your heart

and lean not on your own understanding;

in all your ways acknowledge him,

and he will direct your paths.
