what do you do?

How do you re-energize, renew or reinvent yourself when you’re feeling down? If you don’t believe in the God that I believe in, i.e., you’re not a Christian faith, what do you do to rekindle your “spirit” when you’re feeling like the whole world is on top of you, figuratively speaking, and you just want to shut the door and the windows and have some down time to regroup and get back that zest for life and living that seems to be eluding you?

If you don’t feel like talking to your friends, and you’re not seeing a psychiatrist, who do you speak to?

For me, I talk to God a lot. It’s such a natural thing for me to do because I’ve been doing it for years. I find a quite space, or a time when I’m all alone at home, and I talk. I share my fears, my dreams, my hopes. It’s not like he doesn’t already know them all. But it makes me feel a lot better to say it.

When I’m done communicating and meditating, I usually feel so refreshed. My energy is boundless!

I tell you sometimes it’s like really dragging yourself out of yourself (if you know what I mean) to not feel down or worry about those things we think are so important. So that’s why I always remind myself to just let go.

For the times when I can’t pray or talk, I use a little trick to get myself to relax and let go. I do it mentally, and release the tension from my body, one step at a time.

Here’s the trick I use:

I close my eyes and I let my mind go blank, only concentrating on me
I breathe deeply in and release a breath
Then I visualize each part of my body, stretching, letting go of the tension and relaxing myself
I think of my neck and I let go
I think of my shoulders, and I let go
My elbows
My wrists
My fingers
My back
My knees
My ankles
My toes

Totally immersing myself into the moment of letting go and breathing deeply

I stay in limbo for a moment

It’s the same feeling as going into the swimming pool and floating on your back with not a care in the world. You can’t beat that feeling (apart from coming to a climax! – ok I’m sorry, my bad) I couldn’t resist! But you get my drift! LOL!

So, how do you reenergize yourself? What do you do to uplift yourself and renew your spirit?

I think of all the abundance in my life Donna, that seems to work for me.

I do that as well!  Very refreshing.  I dont burden God with my tensions, just big problems.

gee, it seems like everytime I turn around here's that "letting go thing" again, you know? that Serenity prayer......it so ooooooo
helps me...I think I need a copy of it for the wall in front of my computer....

Sometimes when I'm down I take a "me" day. I swear off of cleaning, cooking, answering the phone,
and bury myself in my bedroom with my favourite things....which I"m overdue on writing a new list...
some of fave things are: cocoa, good movies, a good novel, and a bottle of flexirol in case I
wanna sleep.....

It's also past time I started using the local pool, nothing beats floating in water, feeling the water lapping
up against my face and letting go.. For some reason when I"m in water I totally go relaxed...

Me too! No wonder my kids don't want to leave the pool whenever we go for a swim. It is very relaxing!

Nice deal. My deal is, he takes everything and guides me on the right path - not a bad deal!
