What a blast!

Yesterday was the one day almost everyone in the office tore out of there because it was Holloween and they had plans of kids coming to Trick or Treat or they were taking their children or grandchildren Trick or Treating. I thought it was hilarious to see the cars backed up and everyone dashing out because the 'witching' hour was almost here for the fun to begin!

I manage to get out early too and made a stop before heading home. By the time we were ready to go, I had to pick up my son's friend and his sister, which I didn't mind doing. The more the merrier. It was me and four children going Trick and Treating for Holloween. My oldest chose to go with her friends and that was ok with us. At first I didn't want to let her go because I didn't expect it, but then I realise, she's 17 and doesn't want to hang around with mom and a bunch of younger kids anyway, so her dad dropped her off at her friend's house.

My youngest daughter was a Sleeping Beauty Princess, my son a Bionicle, his favourite thing to be at this time of the year; his friend was a vampire, or Dracula to be precise and his sister was a Mummy princess, quite good make up jobs too! I unfortunately didn't take the disposable and my hubby wasn't with us so I couldn't take pictures of the Dracula and Mummy Princess costumes but they were really great!

We were joined by another couple and their one and half year old who looked so adorable as a little fairy princess. Off we went to Trick or Treat. Although it seemed as if many people didn't participate as they did last year, the kids came away with quite a load of candy! My daughter couldn't carry her stash anymore and I ended up carrying it around for her.

We had quite a grand time. We returned home tired but happy. And boy, did we enjoy eating those sugary candy. It's not all gone though, there's still quite a lot to be eaten, all in good time!

The Pictures came through fine.  This is the daughter that is terrorizing the other siblings 364 days of the year?  Hmmmm....she looks adorable.  Or was that just an evil leer knowing she was going to wail on them again today?

I can't wait till my wife and I have kids so we have a better excuse to dash home for Haloween....right now we probably just look silly running hope to pass out candy. I know some people don't like the holiday but it's one of my favorites Hope your little ones had a blast!

Cute kids. Well, not so sure about the bionicle because of the mask.

Nice costumes. I'm jealous of your kids. My parents could never really be bothered to make/buy costumes for us.

Haha, you wouldn't believe the decorations that some people did at their homes, it was wonderful and the kids loved it. They were giving out grades to people with the best dressed home. And they weren't shy in saying "Oh we give your house an A+ or a B" . The homeowners took it in good stride too! Oh yes, we has quite a few homes without children as well and they participated which was really great of them to do so!

Haha, he had to have the mask on, that made the outfit!!

Thx. Oh definately every year we let them have a ball. My daughter is in the Princess years right now. She will move on to the witch, vampire and punked out stage soon. Just as my oldest girl did. The other child who came with us was a 9 year old girl. She recently started dressing as witches and such she told me, she used to like dressing as a princess. I nodded my head because I remember that was the age my oldest started dressing as a witch. So, I guess they go through phases!

Great pics, Donna. I think it's so cute how your daughter is posing in the second one.

btw .. did you wear a costume? You should've had your husband dress up as Aquaman.
