I have that silly smile on my face when I think of him.  Jaden is his name.  Came in at 6 lbs 6 Oz's and 18 inches long!  Born January 27 around 11:20 ish...Jessica and little Jaden are doing well! I now know why some grandmothers go ape over their grandchildren!  Even my son is bragging to strangers, "I'm an uncle"!  I will post links to photos!   " http://i190.photobucket.com/albums/z249/ForeverSerenity2003/BabyJaden039.jpg "  ...

My daughter had a doctor's visit today.  she called me while I was at work, she's one centimetre dilated!!!  I got excited at that news.  I guess the countdown has begun!  remember her doctor's aim is for delivery next Thursday, inducing her.  I did tell her that her baby might just be here before that happens, which would be a lot easier for her! The countdown has begun, her dad says he will be here by the weekend, I say by the time she goes to the doctor aga...

I'm sitting here worn out after meet and greet and finding classrooms for my son and at his new high shcool and earlier meeting the teacher at my daughter's elementary school.   Amanda's school list, well, I thought I had gotten everything I could possibly think of!  Oh no!  Despite all the shopping I've already done, I didn't quite complete it, I just scratched the surface!  The quantity of each items, well, now has to be in threes, as in three packs of each, e.g., era...

A little kid can't even depend on the Tooth Fairy anymore!  My daughter lost one of her molars, one in the back, finally after weeks of her worrying about it because it was shaking, the tooth is out.  She had kept worrying it with her tongue and I was afraid she was going to bite into something and maybe swallow the thing!   Her dad wanted to just pull it out but I told him no way because all of the root have to come out!   She went to a birthday party and came ...

I've never actually thought about doing it. It was done recently at work, it was a business thing, one department decided to create it for many of the students who were not going to be around anymore, and they actually buried it in a sealed container that everyone can see (a kind of monument no doubt), but not open until ten or so years later. I thought that was a great idea to make one! The only other place I"ve heard about a time capsule is on television or in the movies, and putting...

My kids went own on their own...sort of...without me anyway! They are safe, not to worry. My daughter went with her friends to the Sunday School they all attend to trick or treat car style....I think Tova or Life Happens mentioned that?! They aren't the only ones doing that this year it seems! My son went with his friends, I let him with a bit of trepidation but realise that he's 13 after all, not a baby anymore, and this will probably be his last year to trick or treat! So, one last ...

I tell ya, my poor six year old daughter has been popping in and out of her costume like a pro! I mentioned that she was Cinderella this year, for two reasons really. Her school is having a character day instead of Halloween (I just hope they don't cancel Christmas or else they will be hearing from me!) and she enjoys the Disney Princesses (that new money-making trend for Disney) and wanted to be Cinderella this year! (last year she was Sleeping Beauty) On Friday we went to an event whe...

If most of these companies here in the US can do it for their businesses, why can't I for my personal life? Think about it! If you can be as forgetful as I tend to be sometimes, due to the myriad of things you have on your agenda, why not?! Maybe that might even help me to run my life more efficiently! All I would have to do is hire a company in India somewhere and give them instructions! Yeah, delegating my personal life, why the heck not?! It would leave me with a lot more per...

I was curious as to how many of you who are parents of older children, handled them when they turned 18, as well I am curious about many of you when you turned 18, how did your parents handle you and how did you behave? I'm asking because in my blog entitled Privacy Policy , regarding the privacy policies of most universities and colleges here in the US, I wondered at why they wouldn't notify parents if their child was seriously ill or had some other problems that I as a parent would want...

I got woken up by soppy kisses this morning! My 5 year old jumped up on the bed and planted some wet ones on my cheek, saying "I love you mommy" - how sweet is that?! I was up til 6am this morning, that's right, I was busy doing paperwork, tax information that had to go in for my now defunct business. I procrastinated enough and now I paid the price of making sure they get to the post office this morning when my hubby drops our daughter number one to her part time job. I've actually b...

I'm tired and it's been a very long day! I've been up for most of the night, last night. Tending to another sick child. Why does it always end up being the mommy's job to take the brunt of this situation. Sometimes dads just fall apart, maybe not fall apart, but they just look on helplessly and yell for tired mom to take action! My youngest, the five year old, was sick all night last night so it was a night of watching and cleaning up after her and praying that whatever it is will pass ...

Leo Tolstoy famously wrote in " Anna Karenina , All happy families are alike; each unhappy family is unhappy in its own way [color=blue]>>." _____________ According to an article I read ">Link http://www.amazemagazine.com/Pages/Magazine/Empowerment/2006/OctNov/we-are-family.html Link written by Anne Baird, a ‘solid, united’ family is one of the ‘greatest gifts’ you can have. They are however, becoming a rare thing. She mentioned that back in the day, grandma’s days that i...

Now that the big day is here, I'm rather tired. My kids got me up early, actually since 5am...I told them to go back to bed...then at 6am....nope, not getting up yet....then at 7am....finally I caved, since my hubby was up, I crawled out of bed. They plugged the tree in, which is what we normally do on the morning of Christmas and it stays plugged in the entire day! *************************************** Feed the fishes, since they're right there, the tank next to the tree, and the...

Finally, after the feast of Thanksgiving was over and a visit from their paternal grandma on that day, which was wonderful for the kids since it's been a while since they saw her. My daughters and I went to the mall on Friday afternoon, yes, afternoon, no mad shopping for me thank you! Although we went because my oldest was looking for a jacket and she found a really nice one too! On Sunday, we dressed the tree! While the kids worked on unraveling the lights with some guidance from ...

My hubby and my little one were outside because he was trying to fix a minor problem with his car. It gets dark here early now, at 6pm it's night time. My hubby came in and told me they were walking back together to come inside and suddenly he heard a swoosh and something flew in between him and went straight for our five year old. It was an Owl, a rather large one at that. Before he could do anything, it was going after her, she said she saw it coming it looked straight at her, moved it...
