The following was my response to zienobia’s blog, Link : “Your views are interesting because it enlightens me a little to an innocent's way of thinking. Given that we in the western world don't speak or read the language (at least some do speak the language) and we don't get the reports immediately the way you guys do where you are (and it's always amazing to me how quickly your news medium get their information), we wouldn't know that the wording is wrong or that there are spelling erro...
Ok, maybe I’m on a theme here, too fat to have a baby, now too fat to fight…gosh, just a bizarre day! Perhaps for Dr. Guy’s Weird and Wacky set of articles! Link So this 17 year old wanted to share his love and support for his country by going in to a recruiting office in his hometown. You would think they would be happy to see him right? Nope, he was told he needs to lose some weight. The young man had already lost some of his excess weight since he planned on signing up. Appare...
I just read a news article that a nurse told a pregnant woman to lose weight because she’s too fat to have the baby at their hospital. And get this….she’s in the last weeks of pregnancy with 10 more weeks to go! Apparently since her BMI (Body Max Index) is 41. The normal BMI is 20-25. And under 40 for women who are pregnant, according to the news article. I guess if that was the case in the US a lot of women would be in big trouble then! I don’t understand why they didn’t just tra...
She sent me this by email... Sing this to the melody of Gloria Gaynor's "I Will Survive" I WILL SURVIVE At first I was afraid, I was petrified. When you said you had 10 inches, Lord I almost died! But I'd spent so many years just waiting for a man that long, Then I grew strong, And I knew that I could take you on .. But there you...

To cut or not to cut…..I have no clue. I told you guys I recently took my braids out right?....no, wait a minute, that was mentioned in a response to Alison’s blog about her hair Link . Well to some people this might have seem trivial and in fact, one smart alecky person kind of told her that…and I really wanted to respond to him/her (I have no clue since he/she was a coward and signed in anonymously) but I thought not to because she might do a better job of it – in fact, I have to revisit...
I just read an article wherein the Pentagon is keeping a database of high school students’ personal information for recruitment purposes. Although it is against the law to do this, they are doing it anyway! That’s millions of high school students all over this country who are 16-18 years old! I heard this story several months ago and at the time, the government issued a statement that this wasn’t true. Now it is a fact, they are doing this! In my birth country there is a saying; “wen ...
I’ve been exercising fully now for, gosh, this is embarrassing but I’ve not really been keeping track of the date since I really began, but I would say about 3 months now. That’s of really working out one hour five days a week. However, I’ve started on my new way of thinking and exercising since the year began. I’ve not been to the gym I usually go to in the last four - five weeks because I’ve began to utilize a different way of working out. Namely I exercise in the mornings now instead...
My kids love going to Walmart because it's so much fun for them. They like going to the other stores we shop at too, but Walmart is their absolute favorite. What with all the toys, a fun room to keep little ones occupied (never without supervision of course!), and to actually get a chance to play the latest game on the game consoles they have in the music/game area.....that place is heaven to them! So there we are at our regular Super Walmart shopping for our weekly groceries. Finally ...
So tomorrow is my daughter's surgery. It's dental surgery for those who haven't kept up with my blogs. Finally she will get some relief from feeling uncomfortable and taking antibiotics. They're not sure how long it will be but possibly an hour. Hopefully no longer. I really don't like the fact that she will be put to sleep but I guess it's for the best. Less screaming and all that. And man is she a fighter! That girl is so strong sometimes I wonder where she gets her strength from...
I wanted to say more while responding to Little Whip’s blog entitled “Calling All Negroes” . Link She made some good and valid points, and the comments were pretty interesting and some cleverly funny! As someone mentioned in their comments on her blog, (not a quote verbatim), why can’t we (all) be looked on as just a human being? I agree, after all, I'm just a human being, a woman of color, of Caribbean birth (born in Jamaica), and a Naturalized citizen of the good old US of A. ...
It always amazes me how many times I have spent looking for a matching sock to complete a pair, for my kids, my husband, or myself. Whenever my husband does the laundry, he folds in his own fashion (read manly fold – not neat, haphazardly) (but I’m glad he folds when he does!) so I accept it until I redo them and put the clothes away (he doesn’t – or at least I won’t let him because he never puts the right clothing with the right person, LOL!). But when it comes to socks he doesn’t match th...
I’ve not been online much this week. At least, I’ve been on but not able to respond much. When I do respond my computer has been so slow that sometimes I give up! Because it’s slow submitting the comments or it gets lost before it even gets online! Ah technology…..oh wherefore art though?! So I haven’t had the chance to respond to some of my favorites’ blogs, some of which have already moved on because they write so much! Anyway, I’ve been busy working on a couple of projects, som...
I got this link in an email. Link It's a beautiful reminder about Hope ! Never lose yours!
The US Postal service sent out a message to all letter carriers to put a sheet of Bounce in their uniform pockets to keep yellow jackets away. The yellow jackets just veer around you. And all this time you've just been putting Bounce in the dryer! It will chase ants away when you lay a sheet near them. It also repels mice. Spread them around foundation areas, or in trailers, cars that are sitting and it keeps mice from entering your vehicle. It takes the odor out of books and phot...
