I received my tri-montly letter in the mail recently regarding what investments I have and whether or not I had a gain or loss. It definitely was a loss, but not a major one, thank heavens, but that made me wonder what will the next three months bring and will I ever have enough money to retire on? What exactly is enough money to retire on any way? They (financial advisers, experts) say it should be at least three times your salary, and if you can do more, then do so. It is kind of like...

I read an article on time.com about a Study that was done by Anya Hurlbert and Yazhu Ling, neuroscientists at Newcastle University, where they found out that girls prefer pink to blue and why we do. In the study, they polled 208 people, male and female; both genders liked blue, but the women preferred the redder shades of blues, i.e., reddish to purple or pinkish shades, while the men preferred the bluish-green hues. They also did the study between Chinese and British individuals and ...
Why don't sheep shrink when it rains? Why the sun lightens our hair, but darkens our skin? Why women can't put on mascara with their mouth closed? ! Why don't you ever see the headline "Psychic Wins Lottery"? Why is "abbreviated" such a long word? Why is it that doctors call what they do "practice"? Why is lemon juice made with artificial flavor, and dishwashing liquid made with real lemons? Why is the man who invests all your money called a bro...
I really hope this link works! This weatherman was on the air and had a surprise visit! Link If that doesn't work, try this Link
From an Email! __________________ Do you realize that the only time in our lives when we like to get old is when we're kids? If you're less than 10 years old, you're so excited about aging that you think in fractions. "How old are you?" "I'm four and a half!" You're never thirty-six and a half. You're four and a half, going on five! That's the key! You get into your teens, now they can't hold you back. You jump to the next number, or even a few ahead. "How old are y...
OK folks, now you've heard it all, a bottled water named Bling H20 sells for $50 - $90 ! Oh yeah, the reason for the pricey tag are the Swarovski crystals embedded in the bottle, used to spell its name. The source of the water is from a Tennessee spring. It has been "purified in a nine-step process that includes ultraviolet treatment, micro-filtration, and ozone" oh joy!. Guess who developed it......give up?.....Kevin Boyd, a Hollywood writer and producer! I guess we should ha...
Where's the category for Vacation? I couldn't put this under Travel, because I didn't really travel, not technically anyway. And I didn't want to put this under Sports & Leisure because it was more about day trips..... Some of you might know that one of my BFF (aren't you tired of that term but it says a lot!), visited with me for five days and man was it fun! We haven't seen each other since I left NY but we are always on the phone chatting at least two or three times a week when we are...
Apparently if you call too often, to check on billing errors, or anything that you feel is important to you, your cellphone carrier can think you are a nuisance and end your contract! That's what Sprint did to one of their customers. While the calls she was making to them, was to fix the errors they made on her account, they were monitoring and making a note of how many times she called them. They lose money when they are on the phone with you, their customer and helping you is not a pro...
Here's another incident that makes you wonder what the dick is wrong with people these days. A couple let their children starve because of their addiction to computer games, particularly Dungeon and Dragons. It's not that they didn't have food at their home, they just didn't bother to take the time to feed their children. The children were not only malnourished, their muscular development was nil because they didn't do anything physical with them. These are babies, 22months old and 11 mon...
I don't know if she was in her right mind or what. Or why she would want to bring unknown attention to herself, but who knows if this was her way to be famous! Then again, you don't really choose who you fall in love with, it just happens, right.....or does it? Link
I have some water-potted and dirt-potted plants growing inside my home. They weren't doing so well because I wasn't paying too much attention to them, isn't that how it always is with everything in life?! Now they are blooming beautifully and abundantly! I will have to transplant the water grown ones soon. I also have some in my office, and those are gorgeous. I have a picture of the largest one at my home. They are on a table beside a window and do not get too mcuh sunlight.

Did you know that TONIGHT, Friday, July 6th, 2007, at 8pm is the deadline to get your vote in for your choice of a monument or whatever you think is a wonderous thing, too marvelous not to be on the list, to be counted as part of the 8 (eight) New Wonders of the World? People are voting from all over the globe on their favourite choices. We have to get something from the Americas on the list is what I hope will happen! So far there are monuments and locations from other parts of the wo...
Joey Chestnut did it! He took back the belt for America! Joey won the hot dog eating contest at Coney Island in Brooklyn, NY yesterday. That's the famous Nathan's Hot Dog eating contest held annually at Coney Island where the contestants compete by eating as many hot dogs as they can. The winner of this contest has been a Japanese guy, a little guy too given he ate so much to win, named Takeru Kobayashi, for the past five years. It was going around the grapevine that Kobayashi wo...
I saw this quiz on msnbc.com and thought it was interesting to see how much I do actually remember! I mixed up the Years for the dates in two of the questions so I got two questions wrong! You answered 90% of questions correctly. Here's your rating: 85-100%: Welcome to the United States! (And, truth be told, you know more about this great land than most Americans.) I got a 90% which is great, although I did receive a 100% at the time of my actual citizenship test many years a...
