I was watching Nightline tonight and heard about this insane, idiocy, for-the-love-of-god ridiculous lawsuit because of a pants that was misplaced by a dry cleaning store. The person who is doing the lawsuit, a lawyer...er..an administrative judge! The people who owns the dry cleaning establishment, an older couple who have had the business for many years and have never had something like this happen to them. They have tried to settle the case. They found the pants and even offered the ...
I have been trying to log on to the Trivia Challenge game that we JUsers play and haven't been able to. I can't even log in through one of Rose's privious blogs. Anyone else having this problem today? I even copied the link from Google and put it into my address bar and it won't open up. It says DNS entry not found? my.funtrivia.com/tournament/The-JoeUser-Daily-Trivia-Challenge-52357.html
She said it on her blogs, and I don’t read her blogs but I heard about it. I don’t understand why she brought her radical rhetoric over into TV but she has! She said the British troops are to blame; it’s their own fault that they got taken by the Iranians. I can't imagine what these poor soldiers family will think when they hear this! She said September 11 was an inside job - conspiracy theory she barks! She said so many other things that I’m beginning to wonder what exactly she i...
I’m going to talk about something that probably will make some of you, your initial response will probably be, “oh not that again” or you’ll probably not bother to read because you’re heard it all before. That’s OK. I write this for those of you who keep asking the question, why some people can’t get over themselves and stop crying racism as often as some do. Granted, there are those people ‘out there’ (‘Society’) who do use the word ‘racism’ no matter what happens or is happening and it...
I read today that designer Marc Jacobs is in rehab after 7 years of sobriety, he slipped, and now he’s working on getting himself ‘together’. Link I found this discussion on the linked site interesting. Link Someone commented that celebrities go to rehab to gain publicity. One asks why they can’t go quietly; another commented that it’s the media’s fault. Another reader commented: “I think putting people with real mental health issues and most of the celebs is a bit...
At least the ones who are not all fundamentalist in their ways! I had heard about this many years ago when I used to be in retail, that the women of the Middle East do like to shop, have tons of money to do it with and follow our trends and fashion in a big way. I was still surprised when I took a look at Marie Claire’s latest issue to find a spread in their Fashion & Trend section about Islamic women who do love to shop and even some who are models in their country of Dubai, the Middle...
My daughter is really interested in becoming an entertainer, namely a singer, music producer. She hasn't had any formal training, but I think she has some good talents which will get even better with practice and as the years go by! She's been on her school choir and has appeared in several school productions! This month she's going to perform in her school's Black History show. They did a great job last year and I'm looking forward to seeing the students performance again! ...
I opened my email to see a message from a famous ‘Hollywood’ person. Who you might wonder, well you already know from my title of course, yes, Kevin Bacon! Apparently Kevin (and AOL/AIM) has started a new organization and a Website where he’s linked his infamous Six Degrees of Separation game, story, the play, to a charity. You join the charity, create your own webpage, raise money, he matches! Yep, you’ll get the chance to be famous too, maybe! But it’s all for a good cause. I’m ...
I was thinking about this song, "Thank Heaven for Little Girls" by Maurice Chevalier..from the movie Gigi...a movie I love to watch and I think there was a series too. Or was it the series and then the movie? Can't remember....anyway...I've been listening to oldie but goody music as well because my oldest girl is going to audition for a role in a play at school and it's a 1920's thing. So we've been listening to Etta James, Ella Fitzgerald, Lena Horne and some other songs and music fro...
It seems the news media people have nothing better to do than to show Senator Barack Obama shirtless. Mind you, the man is on the beach getting is swim on, relaxing, having a fun day in the sun! When asked about it, he said it's embarrassing and "it's er, er paparazzi!"! So true! Not only are there video shots, there are also print and online coverage! Some people are saying how flabby he is. He doesn't look all that bad, to me and some folks. The guy could have had an overly ex...
This one just takes the cake! How in the world they expect people not to be grossed out? Although it's aquarium fishes, and not the ones you actually do fish for! I dont' think my pet fishes would like this idea at all! Link
When I saw this video I felt very afraid for the woman...even with the dialogue from the person reporting, just looking at the lion grabbing the woman is enough to give me chills! But, he gave her a lion hug! Wow! Link
Neil Diamond, I just love his music. The songs from his ealier years, especially those from his 12 Greatest hits CD. I was in a Neil Diamond kind of mood and played a couple of his tunes. Hits the spot. Is it too soon to have the blues? Perhaps not, though just a little meloncholy cause I feel as if I've lost my best friends somehow. Life, eats you up, spits you out, that's why it matters what you make of it. Only you can make it your own, make it work for you. That's my advice f...
I love shoes! I think I've mentioned that already. I also like to keep myself updated on what's the trend in shoes and accessories in general. Would you believe just looking at shoes and handbags and fashion jewellery makes me happy? It does! Yes, another weird thing about me!LOL! Hey, I am myself! Which by the way, is my new mantra for this new year! (more on that later) I saw these gorgeous looking ankle boots that are very attractive and not just because they are what's wea...
I found an interesting article written by Jim Canterucci on amazemagazine.com, an online magazine that I visit frequently (it has recently folded, unfortunately); Jim wrote that it's ok to be curious and to take steps to find out what we want to know more about because it helps us to grow. Sometimes in hesitating, we often regret not doing it. It's not so much the asking of the questions that makes someone hesitate, it's what happens afterwards, perhaps, (my thoughts here) how the person wi...
