I have some water-potted and dirt-potted plants growing inside my home. They weren't doing so well because I wasn't paying too much attention to them, isn't that how it always is with everything in life?! Now they are blooming beautifully and abundantly! I will have to transplant the water grown ones soon. I also have some in my office, and those are gorgeous. I have a picture of the largest one at my home. They are on a table beside a window and do not get too mcuh sunlight. ...

Did you know that TONIGHT, Friday, July 6th, 2007, at 8pm is the deadline to get your vote in for your choice of a monument or whatever you think is a wonderous thing, too marvelous not to be on the list, to be counted as part of the 8 (eight) New Wonders of the World? People are voting from all over the globe on their favourite choices. We have to get something from the Americas on the list is what I hope will happen! So far there are monuments and locations from other parts of the wo...

Joey Chestnut did it! He took back the belt for America! Joey won the hot dog eating contest at Coney Island in Brooklyn, NY yesterday. That's the famous Nathan's Hot Dog eating contest held annually at Coney Island where the contestants compete by eating as many hot dogs as they can. The winner of this contest has been a Japanese guy, a little guy too given he ate so much to win, named Takeru Kobayashi, for the past five years. It was going around the grapevine that Kobayashi wo...

I saw this quiz on msnbc.com and thought it was interesting to see how much I do actually remember! I mixed up the Years for the dates in two of the questions so I got two questions wrong! You answered 90% of questions correctly. Here's your rating: 85-100%: Welcome to the United States! (And, truth be told, you know more about this great land than most Americans.) I got a 90% which is great, although I did receive a 100% at the time of my actual citizenship test many years a...

I’ve not been in any highly secretive jobs where I had to have clearance from anyone above the person that I’m working for. Then again, I do remember once when I was temping for an agency and putting myself through business school, I had to be bonded in order to work on Wall Street. So I guess that was a high security risk alright. I have also in the past work with people who handle other people’s personal financial information and the information within must be kept confidential at al...

If you shop at the Dollar Stores or any discount stores for that matter where they sell toothpaste, particularly those that are a copy of Colgate toothpaste, there is a warning not to buy that type because they are mixed with dangerous chemicals. The type of chemicals that is put in antifreeze! One thing to look out for is mispellings on the packages. The following brands are also found to contain this chemical Cooldent, Clean Rite and Oralmax. These are the brands sold by Dollar Gene...

Have you ever been eating something, really tasty, perhaps it's the last bite, it falls to the ground and you quickly pick it up, blowing at it, brushing it off and/or kissing it and raising it upward in the hopes that it's blessed and ready to be enjoyed? Well those five seconds is enough time for all kinds of germs to get on your food. So you may have just eaten a mouthful of something that will make you sick! Sometimes it can even take just two seconds for it to get contaminated!...

I was watching Nightline tonight and heard about this insane, idiocy, for-the-love-of-god ridiculous lawsuit because of a pants that was misplaced by a dry cleaning store. The person who is doing the lawsuit, a lawyer...er..an administrative judge! The people who owns the dry cleaning establishment, an older couple who have had the business for many years and have never had something like this happen to them. They have tried to settle the case. They found the pants and even offered the ...

I have been trying to log on to the Trivia Challenge game that we JUsers play and haven't been able to. I can't even log in through one of Rose's privious blogs. Anyone else having this problem today? I even copied the link from Google and put it into my address bar and it won't open up. It says DNS entry not found? my.funtrivia.com/tournament/The-JoeUser-Daily-Trivia-Challenge-52357.html

She said it on her blogs, and I don’t read her blogs but I heard about it. I don’t understand why she brought her radical rhetoric over into TV but she has! She said the British troops are to blame; it’s their own fault that they got taken by the Iranians. I can't imagine what these poor soldiers family will think when they hear this! She said September 11 was an inside job - conspiracy theory she barks! She said so many other things that I’m beginning to wonder what exactly she i...

I’m going to talk about something that probably will make some of you, your initial response will probably be, “oh not that again” or you’ll probably not bother to read because you’re heard it all before. That’s OK. I write this for those of you who keep asking the question, why some people can’t get over themselves and stop crying racism as often as some do. Granted, there are those people ‘out there’ (‘Society’) who do use the word ‘racism’ no matter what happens or is happening and it...

I read today that designer Marc Jacobs is in rehab after 7 years of sobriety, he slipped, and now he’s working on getting himself ‘together’. Link I found this discussion on the linked site interesting. Link Someone commented that celebrities go to rehab to gain publicity. One asks why they can’t go quietly; another commented that it’s the media’s fault. Another reader commented: “I think putting people with real mental health issues and most of the celebs is a bit...

At least the ones who are not all fundamentalist in their ways! I had heard about this many years ago when I used to be in retail, that the women of the Middle East do like to shop, have tons of money to do it with and follow our trends and fashion in a big way. I was still surprised when I took a look at Marie Claire’s latest issue to find a spread in their Fashion & Trend section about Islamic women who do love to shop and even some who are models in their country of Dubai, the Middle...

My daughter is really interested in becoming an entertainer, namely a singer, music producer. She hasn't had any formal training, but I think she has some good talents which will get even better with practice and as the years go by! She's been on her school choir and has appeared in several school productions! This month she's going to perform in her school's Black History show. They did a great job last year and I'm looking forward to seeing the students performance again! ...

I opened my email to see a message from a famous ‘Hollywood’ person. Who you might wonder, well you already know from my title of course, yes, Kevin Bacon! Apparently Kevin (and AOL/AIM) has started a new organization and a Website where he’s linked his infamous Six Degrees of Separation game, story, the play, to a charity. You join the charity, create your own webpage, raise money, he matches! Yep, you’ll get the chance to be famous too, maybe! But it’s all for a good cause. I’m ...
