From a recent Email I received! Drum rolls please.....LOL! __________________________________________________ Question: If you could live forever, would you and why? Answer: "I would not live forever, because we should not live forever, because if we were supposed to live forever, then we would live forever, but we cannot live forever, which is why I would not live forever," --Miss Alabama in the 1994 Miss USA contest. `````````````````````````````````` "Whenev...

Sometimes I feel as if she is my first and only child. Because she is such a bundle of tumultuous energy that cannot be defined or confined. She’s currently ruler of our household and loving it. One minute she’s queen of her kingdom, the next she’s running for cover yelling “Mommy” when her frustrated brother and sister makes after her for doing something naughty to them or their possession. Recently my oldest girl came to me wailing, “Mommy Amanda has put water in my makeup, all of...

Potato chips have always been a favorite food of mine. I disliked that they’re so salty, although the salty can be good at times! I like to eat it although I don’t eat it too often. Once in a while I will eat it. Man we’ve become such Chicken Littles because of all the things that are not good for us but we love to eat them. Many moons ago we didn’t worry so much about what we eat, now because of our health we have to live a much healthier lifestyle and so we’re all encouraged to eat h...

I really do love to eat eggs. Even the news that too much of it isn’t good for you does not deter me from eating it. What are they talking about any way? I know, I know, the cholesterol thing. But you know, I don’t really worry about that when I’m enjoying my egg and I don’t eat it too often anyway. I like them boiled, fried, steamed/pouched, and scrambled. My mood often depicts the type of egg I’m going to have. Or maybe that should be the mood of my taste bud! When I was pregn...

During the recent confirmation hearings of Judge John Roberts, a terminology that stuck out and kept coming up was “strict constructionism” , so much so it was referred to in an article written by Rich Smith , who writes Investment articles for Fools.com . Jeffrey Nesteruk also wrote a recent article in the Chronicle of Higher Education (September 16, 2005 issue) about “The Limits of Law as a Moral Arbiter”. He said some very interesting things in his article that left me t...

Has anyone watched the premier of CSI? It was fantastic as usual. I’m a meat lover and all but man if I was eating at the time while watching this show, I most certainly would have hurled! They don’t hesitate to show you the decomposing bodies or to let you see what they’re doing! Thank God I have a strong stomach! Just the sight is enough to make me gag! I guess that’s why it’s such a popular show. And even all the spin offs have become pretty popular too. Anyone who missed the...

I love music, really, really I do (I probably mentioned that already!) It takes me away It lets me get over myself, over what's going on around me, in the world it takes me away to another place that happy place Bon Jovi's telling me to "Have a Nice Day" - have you ever heard it? It's really wild! (read oh so good) Nine Inch Nails is telling me "there's only you, there's only me" then again, that should be listened to later, LOL! Dredg is telling me about "Bug Life" Papa Roach's ...

I love to write poetry, it’s a passion of mine. I keep a folder on my hard drive with some of the poems I’ve penned. Some time ago I entered a "free poetry" contest, I was told how wonderful my poem was and how much they want to publish my writing! My poem was going to be in a special book, “The Best Poets of the Year”. You can imagine how ecstatic I felt; my poem, they want to publish my poem! But guess the clinker….to have it published I have to pay. And not just pay a simp...

This is an Email I received today. I wanted to share it because it's pretty relevant to what's being said now. I don't if it's really written by a child or not, or who wrote it. I'm posting the way I received it. I just think the words give a lot of food for thought. What say you? ************************************************************************************************ " Since the Pledge of Allegiance and The Lord's Prayer are not allowed in most public schools anymore ...

I don’t know about you but sometimes it’s difficult to tell when someone is lying to you. I can tell when my kids are lying, that’s pretty easy. I just give them the “stare” and ask them to repeat what they just said and that usually does it! They break down and confess. They don’t do that too often, lie that is, but they will try to get over on me if they know I will be upset at them. I’ve told them no matter what just tell me the truth and I promise to listen and think about it before ...

What is it about God that Atheists fear so much? Because some will be quick to say an Atheist doesn’t hate, then it must be fear. A fear of God. What makes an Atheist an Atheist? I don’t really know the answer to that question. And I’m sure some of you will enlighten me. I welcome the responses. But I wonder what does being an Atheist really means? Is it someone who goes around and look for everything and anything that represents God and make a big fuss about it because his rights are...

Constitution Day is September 16, 2005. It is a Federal Holiday that celebrates the U.S. Constitution. September 17 (the Constitutional Congress’ final meeting when the Constitution was signed) is the actual anniversary but because it’s a Saturday, it will be celebrated on September 16. The phrase “separation of church and state” is not in the Constitution. These words were written by Thomas Jefferson when he wrote that First Amendment erected a “wall of separation: between the chur...

My son has a really great sense of humor, often times pretty wacky! He got that from his dad…..and me too come to think of it! He’s always regaling me with some funny stories or giving some funny repartee in his conversations with me. Like his dad, he keeps me laughing, sometimes loud guffaws or hysterical laughter. This morning while getting ready for work, he comes into the bathroom where I was putting my make up on. He goes, “Mom, do you want to hear something really funny?” I look...
