Due to the climate of political correctness now pervading America, we have to be very careful how we refer to people, the names we call them. There are some things that are just not right when you talk about some people! What with calling all women Hos which is totally wrong if they are not such! Rather, if they are in the business, they should be called the “politically correct” terminology! After all, everyone likes to be looked at with respect! Guys, stop saying yur woman is a...

Some detergent bottles are getting smaller, have you noticed? Each time that I go into our favorite Big W or Wally World, as you guys call it, the detergent bottles are smaller and flatter! Yet I pay the same price! What is up with that? In fact, for a while now most of the items we buy have gotten a makeover. They are packaged in smaller containers but they still cost the same! And although they are in smaller containers, the contents themselves are even smaller than the packagin...

There are times when I get out of my own little world (the noisy world that is inside my head at times) to realise that there are people around me who are having an even harder time than most people. Sometimes I observe the families who shop and see how painful it is that they can only afford to buy certain items and sometimes, not at all. There are people out there who can't seem to get out of the quandary they are in, no matter what. They have become so used to being in the situations ...

Some months ago, I wrote about "A Paperless Society" [I'm about to tell you to go see my article list...I know, it's annoying when you have to do all the work!] but, in that article, I wrote about our society, our world going paperless, at least, we were supposed to have by now but haven't - at least not completely! I've seen other articles written on the subject online and in other Journals. It's still a debatable topic of interest. Recently I had a discussion with some friends about...

I found a good list that I consider doable when it comes to doing small things to help with " Going Green ". Jilluser did an article about it, see the main page of JU, it's been featured, and I also did an article on it a couple of month's ago, and if I'm not mistaken, so did Gideon. [Sorry, please, go search if you're interested in reading each viewpoint, didn't copy to link before I began writig this!] I think it's pretty much a reality that we have to do something to make our world be...

Did you know that when your child goes off to college, your right to know about what is going on with him, mentally and healthwise, ends? If he gets sick, you won't know about it, until it's too late or he or she is dead. If he has mental health issues, issues he or she has never had before, you won't be told about it? That's right, you won't know about it unless your child decides or chooses to tell you. Do you want to know why? Because of the 'Privacy Policies" in place at all Un...

I agree with Gene’s article Link the murderer who did what he did, was an insane psychopath, and should not be made into a hero! I don’t want to see his pictures anymore. I don’t want to watch the videos, in fact, I haven’t watched it, I keep switching whenever it’s coming on. I don’t want my children to see it, although they are aware of what happened and I have no explanation to give them as to why someone would do something like what he did, other than to say he was an angry pers...

It has to be a conspiracy! Why else have we had such a problem with our food supplies lately?! First it was the Spinach, then the Lettuces, then the peanut butter and now dog food?! You tell me something is not wrong with this picuture? I can't believe that people's beloved pets have died because of the food they have eaten! It's so sad and should never have happened! It's a good thing that no human died from the peanut butter they ate. Heavens forbids, everytime I remember that we...

Oh the good life.....bathing in beer, washing my hair in beer, cooking with beer....yes I do it all, except the bathing part...that I've never done and didn't realise you could do until now! Seriously! I like to think I'm a connoisseur of beer (in my own humble way) because I just enjoy drinking it! I love a wide variety. The colder the better is how I like mine. I realise that not many people like their beer cold, rather, at room temperature. In fact, there is a Beer Club somewher...

I came across this article on MSN Money at msn.com, that there will probably be a chocolate shortage: _______________ "A drought in Western Africa and unrest in the Ivory Coast -- the world's biggest cocoa producer -- has combined with rising consumer taste for cocoa-rich dark chocolate to raise concerns about a shortage in supply. As a result, cocoa futures have been trading at three-year highs, with prices rallying since the beginning of the year. "In the last few months, cocoa p...

I saw on the news this morning that Lewis ‘Scooter’ Libby was found guilty of lying and obstructing justice in the CIA ‘leak case’. Poor Libby will be the fall guy, taking one for the team. I was surprise at the outcome of this, I really was. Because to me it seemed he did as he was told, he was protecting his boss. So here he was, going to have to go to jail and have this period of his life tainted all because he was doing his job. I wondered if I was faced with something like tha...

I like the fact that there are sometimes referrals to some of my articles. I've mentioned that before and how much of a 'kick' I get out of the fact that other people outside of JU reads me! I found one of my poems on someone's web blog the other day! [duly referred and linked too] Recently I've noticed a different type of referral linked to some of my articles, namely 166.96 . I clicked on it out of curiosity since it wasn't a link I recognized. The first time I did it at home,...

Recently I wrote an article about Kevin Bacon's Six Degree's of Separation and the Charity that it involves. Link I finally went back to set up my own badge and linked it to my favorite charity, The American Red Cross! I didn't realise that there wasn't a chapter in my city but there is one close to me in Tampa. I usually donate on a private basis annual and this is a wonderful way to get other people involved, if they so desire. Take a moment to look at the site, and if you feel...
