I was watching Good Morning America and they featured this couple, parents who kidnapped their daughter because they didn’t want her to get married to the man she was going to marry. They said they felt she was making a mistake and did what they thought was best for her. The daughter and the now husband don’t think they should have done that. The daughter doesn’t want to have anything to do with them. She is prosecuting them for what they did. She said the District Attorney from he...

Leo Tolstoy famously wrote in " Anna Karenina , All happy families are alike; each unhappy family is unhappy in its own way [color=blue]>>." _____________ According to an article I read ">Link http://www.amazemagazine.com/Pages/Magazine/Empowerment/2006/OctNov/we-are-family.html Link written by Anne Baird, a ‘solid, united’ family is one of the ‘greatest gifts’ you can have. They are however, becoming a rare thing. She mentioned that back in the day, grandma’s days that i...

My boss received a late or delayed Christmas gift, or perhaps it was a New Year’s gift, whatever it was, a box of fruits was delivered upon our return to work. A few curious people stopped by to see what was in the box, “oh fruit” and that’s that. Some people who started the health kick (me included) decided to try an orange, which was really sweet and delicious! Day three, and the box with fruits and a few empty ‘cells’ is still there. My boss took one look at it and ...

I was driving behind a car, a bright blue Hyundai Elantra or something like that. It was the prettiest shade of royal blue, brightly colored and the lights were an odd shape, I guess to give it that ‘buy-me-because-I-look-different’ look. The bulbs were bright red in color, even though it was still daylight out. Then the oddest thing happened. It triggered some type of memory, a memory that I couldn’t really define but that made me inexplicably happy as I sat behind this car, waiting ...

Neil Diamond, I just love his music. The songs from his ealier years, especially those from his 12 Greatest hits CD. I was in a Neil Diamond kind of mood and played a couple of his tunes. Hits the spot. Is it too soon to have the blues? Perhaps not, though just a little meloncholy cause I feel as if I've lost my best friends somehow. Life, eats you up, spits you out, that's why it matters what you make of it. Only you can make it your own, make it work for you. That's my advice f...

Lost and alone in the distant night that feeling has gone awanderin drifting like a log down a winding stream sometimes it matters not what you say sometimes there's nothing to stop the feelings I hear the call that goes out, that drifts o'er the night it is so strong I could almost touch you you seem lost, I feel that way too yet we can't give up when there's still so much to be done stories to tell, laughter to share The writing's not yet on the wall, ...

I love shoes! I think I've mentioned that already. I also like to keep myself updated on what's the trend in shoes and accessories in general. Would you believe just looking at shoes and handbags and fashion jewellery makes me happy? It does! Yes, another weird thing about me!LOL! Hey, I am myself! Which by the way, is my new mantra for this new year! (more on that later) I saw these gorgeous looking ankle boots that are very attractive and not just because they are what's wea...

I found an interesting article written by Jim Canterucci on amazemagazine.com, an online magazine that I visit frequently (it has recently folded, unfortunately); Jim wrote that it's ok to be curious and to take steps to find out what we want to know more about because it helps us to grow. Sometimes in hesitating, we often regret not doing it. It's not so much the asking of the questions that makes someone hesitate, it's what happens afterwards, perhaps, (my thoughts here) how the person wi...

I've received this warning email for like the 5th time now. The other four times I toss them in the trash. I've learned my lesson to check first before sounding an alarm. I haven't found anything, because I'm probably looking in the wrong place. Have anyone heard about this Life is Beautiful virus that would be the end of your computer hard drive if you open the document? Just wondering. Here's the email I've cut and pasted: _______________________ Subject: VERY IMPORTANT...

There are so many of us out there who are trying hard to have a sense of normalcy in our lives. Yet there are things that happen on a daily basis for some that won’t let that sense of normalcy exist. We do continue to live in each moment and continue because our very lives depend on our own survival. Yet the cycles continue, always moving, never changing. Do we move forward or do we keep moving backwards? I used a phrase once in one of my writings, ‘regurgitating the same sound bite’...

On the Discovery Channel, maybe because it was 1:40am, they were showing this, I was half asleep (having just woken up from falling asleep on the sofa) and walking ‘blindly’ trying to change into my nightclothes (pajamas) and at the same time watching the television which was still on. The man on the program, the host, whose name I don’t know, built a makeshift spare, stood in the water and tried catching a Salmon. Finally he succeeded! It was a rather large fish, wow; I was impressed by...

I won't quote or refer or link what I read on the blog, because I don't want to even bring more attention to it. And it's not a blogger that I read at all. In fact I avoid it because I know there's never anything of interest to me there. But since I didn't see the name, thought the title was interesting, went there, and wammo....! I know there's freedom of speech, it's a free blog site and yes, we write what we want. But gee at least put a warning! [and it's not porn, even that wouldn...

Steve Wozniak, co founder of Apple wrote a book called Iwoz which he was promoting on the Tavis Smiley Show . Tavis asked him what does he see for technology in the future, Steve said the day will come when the Internet will be our computer. Where we can go to it and download our word program and our spreadsheet and do what we have to do directly from it without there being a software program (on our desktop) and that will be a good thing because technology is such a fragile thing, ...

Oh my goodness! I have to tell you how delicious that recipe of Whip's is! I followed her Sweet Potato, Pecan, & Coconut Casserole recipe to the 'letter' and man oh man, the preparation was so good you could eat it without putting it in the oven! My 5 y.o., who was helping me to do that particular dish, licked so many spoons in the course of mashing and mixing, I had to have her throw each licked spoon in the sink so as not to 'contaminate' the dish! If you're interested in the r...
