I've always heard people say once you have learned to ride a bicycle you never forget how to. My hubby would usually repeat the same mantra to me too because he recently began bike riding again. They would go off around our complex, him and the kids, riding and I would be inside doing something else. He wanted me to join them and I would always say that I can't, I don't remember how to ride a bicycle! You see, I learned to ride a bicycle when I was 15 years old! I taught myself ...

When I lived in New York, ever since I can remember, there have been a running joke between my friends and I that no matter which store I go into when we were shopping, if that store is empty, a crowd gathers around me! I used to laugh at the thought but I'm realising how true that is even today! I will go into a store or a section of a department in a store that is totally empty, there's no one at all for 'miles', then all of a sudden there would be so many people around me I can't mov...

Let me tell you, I've not completed my shopping yet. Truthfully I've been shopping here and there, mostly bargain hunting too for what I've done so far, there are really some great sales out there this year and that's a good thing! I've not completed shopping for my kids, just other people's kids!LOL! In fact, my son's stuff, so far what he wanted, all done. I'm going to add a surprise or two for him though and he enjoys it when I do that! I try to think of the quirkiest gifts that h...

This caught my eye as I logged on to the computer in the wee hours of this AM. "Dad sells son $90 video game for more than 9000 dollars" ! Of course I had to read the story because I can't imagine what and how and why! Apparently the dad, a school teacher bought his son Guitar Hero III for the Wii as a Christmas gift. He came home unexpectedly and found his son with his two friends in the backyard smoking pot so to punish the son, mainly, and out of anger no doubt, the dad put the vi...

Today someone stopped by my desk to tell me thank you because I participated in the adopting children for Christmas from a list that was sent around our building. I had selected two children and bought what they wanted for Christmas. Mind you I selected children who didn't want anything too outlandish or who wanted what I could comfortably afford to buy. I actually even had a problem finding one item for one of the kids and substituted something else. I was a bit embarrassed by what the ...

It's 12:50am and I'm sitting here with the TV on. I'm tuned in to Channel 57 because I was watching Project Runway which has ended. There is a new season of the Janice Dickinson Modeling Agency on - I know, she's a nutcase and I say that very lightly. At least this season she's not as nuts as she was during the first season! One of her models from last season has returned, and she said the girl is too fat! Let me tell you, this girl is gorgeous! She has not once ounce of fat on her ...

Twas the month before Christmas When all through our land, Not a Christian was praying Nor taking a stand. Why the Politically Correct Police had taken away, The reason for Christmas - no one could say. The children were told by their schools not to sing, About Shepherds and Wise Men and Angels and things. It might hurt people's feelings, the teachers would say December 25th is just a 'Holiday'. Yet the shoppers were ready with cash, checks and credit Pushing f...

I have a question for you JUsers. An acquaintance of mine (I haven't known her very long) does this as a business. She told me about it, I decided to sign up with her to have it as a insurance, which is what it is if you think about it! I have heard about the prepaid legal service before, where you can call an 800 number and have the service of a lawyer on any issue. I also thought it would be useful to have. My hubby doesn't think it's a good idea. To him it's money coming from our a...

I didn't sit and watch the entire show last night. In fact, I haven't really kept up with the show because the novelty of it has worn off (for me, although it is a great show!) since it first aired. However, if it 's on when I'm channel surfing I'll sit for a bit and watch whomever is on trying to win money. I have just one question about some of these people? What the fuck is wrong with them? Why would you, especially if you don't see or hold say $65,000 or say $100,000 in your hand ...

I've had one of those days, where I was in pain, really badly! I'm a fairly healthy person with no ailments to complain about (knocked on wood)! For the past two nights, I have slept badly for whatever reasons, and woke up with a really bad neck pain. The day before, I had a slight pain in my neck, where I couldn't fully turn my head. I knew I had slept bad. I did some gentle stretches and took some ibuprofen. I felt better for the rest of the day! This morning however, I got up at...

I know it is better to be fit than fat. But would you consider a thin person fit even if they don't exercise at all? Or a fat person fit if they do exercise daily? Or don't you think a fat person can be fit? Especially if this person isn't morbidly obese and does workout everyday, they might not be considered the American ideal, i.e., a size 2 or lets face it a 0! However, what if this person works out everyday religiously and eats a moderate diet without being on a diet, but doesn't...

Rant on! Sometimes I wonder about people who are declared insane by whatever legal authority. How do they feel? Do they feel anything at all? Do they realise that their lives will never be the same again? Or Are they just so happy to not have to worry about anything at all in this life anymore?! No commitment, no troubles, no appointments, nada, nothing! They live in their own little world, off in la la land! Then I wonder about those people who commit crimes of passio...

When you hear the word "war" your thoughts immediately goes to what is going on in Iraq and Afghanistan, am I right? Perhaps you might go as far back in your memory to what you might know about previous wars that has occurred in our nation? There seems to be a new one, a new type of war brewing these days, via Internet Security! McAfee Inc., a security software firm, said the Chinese government was the biggest offender of trying to find ways around the United States and other countries...

I read an article with the title on MSNBC' s The Red Tape Chronicles written by Bob Sullivan . Apparently there is quite a bit of sneakiness, scams in fact, going on whenever consumers order E-books or use their credit cards to pay for services from the Equifax Website. Their credit cards get charged with an innocuous fee of $4.95 or something similar. The charges are usually not above $10 according to the article. Equifax said that their website is safe! A lot of comfort that is...

I took my daughter for her annual physical earlier this evening. I just don't understand why they schedule appointments when you have to wait almost 30 minutes to be seen?! The doctor we saw this evening wasn't her usual pediatrician, it's the other doctor who is also a part of the practice. Since her doctor was fully booked, I decided to keep this appointment that I had made a month ago. It was good timing too since she suddenly got ill last Wednesday night, right before Thanksgiving and...
