Almost! It has been reported that a US spy satellite has fallen (and can't get up again-corny pun intended!) and is hurtling towards Earth! Link The rogue satellite will probably hit Earth sometime in February or March! The report said that the satellite has lost power and propulsion and can not longer be controlled by the very people who put it out in space! So, they don't know where it's going to land, that means it can land anywhere, even in your back yard! They don't kn...

Newsweek.com featured an article written by Jennie Yabroff (to be featured in their February 4 issue), "Rise of the Real People", real people who are being asked to "strut their stuff", bucking the trend of skinny models and those uber thin ones too on the catwalk and in magazines; modeling for photographers who believe that the time has come for real people to be featured in the media. See that lovely voluptuous woman there, walking with confidence showing off her very curvy figure? Yep,...

I looked at the scale again, 7 pounds lighter than I used to be! Already, I thought to myself?! I'm going to have to do this again in the morning. I've been keeping up with the food, eating less, more veges, fruits, nuts, snacking on healthier things if I feel like it, yogurt, pretzel, fat free popcorn! I managed to get some exercise in but not as often as I would like right now. But I'm doing something! But to already be 7 pounds lighter, yeah~! I realise that's water, blah, blah...

It's been topsy turvy, trying to stay focus, eating right, again, trying my darnedest, exercising, again, really trying to do this right now! What with the going ons in my real life, and the latest happenings at JU, it's thrown me a loop! First with JU, although many people love to say, it's the Internet, it's not real life! Duh, yes, we all know it is the Internet, and yes, it is real life! But people don't tell the truth, so why get involved in or with people you don't know? Well, o...

Have you seen that new show with Carson Kressley on Lifetime, "How to Look Good Naked"? If you haven't you really should see it! It's both entertaining and endearing at the same time. In the show he has a woman, or as in one episode, two women (mother and daughter) who each hate their bodies for one reason or the other. These women or regular women, not celebrities or models, normal sized, average looking women who don't happen to look as bad as they seem to think in their own minds. ...

Boy did I fell off the wagon, really, really deep! I've fallen but I will get up! My daughter's school had a fundraiser, at the local Chuck E Cheese! Pizza and soda here I went! I had to go after work and I was hungry, and there was no dinner cook so...disaster! And boy were those kids noisy! But it was good fun to see them all enjoy themselves as children should! I haven't exercised except for Monday and it's not for lack of trying! Between work, homework and everything els...

I'm not politically inclined, in that I don't listen to or watch everything that happens on politics. I hear about some things, but I don't make it my business to be up front and center for every controversy or not, when it comes to what is going on with the candidates. I don't have fancy words or provocative thoughts or debatable rhetoric. I do keep myself aware of what is going on and what I hear, some good, some not so good, leaves me with lots of thoughts to mull over. The one th...

I was amazed to hear the news reporter quip "there's a warning about Sesame Street, it might not be good for your child", then went to commercial! Don't you just love it when they do that?! Then you hang on til they come back and read the story at the end of the next half hour! It's not really the current episodes of Sesame Street that are bad for your children, it's the versions from 40 or so years ago. There are now Volumes I & II out on DVD that features story-lines, or skits that...

Some time ago, I wrote an article about food that has been genetically altered (GA), the fact that I don't like it one bit! Link Well, nothing much has changed, in that, it's still being done to our foods and it's more prevalent than ever! This week on Good Morning America, it was the topic of discussion again. I am still alarmed about it, especially because foods that have been or will be genetically altered, are not labeled as such! In fact, the FDA has approved them to be on ou...

I'm not having a good start, or at least a good continuation to my work out schedule! I started off by working out for 30 mins on Monday, which was great! Yesterday, I didn't snack, healthy snacks that is, at work, all day. I had breakfast, lunch, and by the time I got around to dinner, I was soooo hungry, I had a bit more than my usual portion! I didn't over do it, but I ate a little too much and I was so listless for lack of energy, I couldn't get enough to workout! Then it was h...

I had no clue American Idol would be back tonight! Of course I watch TV, but I've been stuck on basic cable a lot and missed the promos! It was interesting and I've found three who I already like and hope they make it to the top 10. Don't ask me for names, I wouldn't be able to tell you! But it was the auditions in the city of Philadelphia, a 25 year old who has a daughter with Rett's syndrome, a guy who you wouldn't think had such a great voice and a 23 year old who was the last to au...

It's that time again for me, getting back in the zone, on the wagon, in the mood for what I know I need to continue to do - working out on a daily basis! It's been super difficult but I am slowly getting myself to do the deed. I've already prepared myself mentally, this is something I have to do or else just doing it won't fly with me. What my brain is asking me to do and what my stomach wants from time to time can be very combative! No I don't sit and eat my life away, but I love to in...

I watched a music video today by Martina McBride and was really moved. She was singing her song, one I've come to like, "Where would you be"? In the video she was on the streets of New York with a over sized sketchpad, telling people she's doing a documentary and asking them "What do you wish for"? Some people were taken aback by the question, I guess it is not one they are asked often, much less to share publicly. What I noticed was that about 90 percent of the people wish for ch...
