Am I too fat?   Am I too thin?   Do I look pretty?   How is my hair?    We are always questionable as to our looks, the way we look to others and ourselves.   We want to look the way how beauty is defined to us on television, at the movies and especially in magazines!   Unfortunately, while their definition of beauty might be good for those who enjoy it, or those who actually look that way, it doesn’t do any good for those of us who cannot li...

An interesting article I found while all the election hubbub was going on!  An article written by Sarah Jio of Glamour Magazine !  She has some good tips, that anyone could use!  Her article is entitled "How to avoid post-election depression if your cadidate doesn't win".     http://shine.yahoo.com/channel/health/how-to-avoid-post-election-depression-when-your-candidate-doesn-t-win-301749/   Her last paragraph reads: Choose to be at pe...

I found a very interesting article written by Sandy Banks, a Journalist for the  Los Angeles Times .   It is about the choice of President-elect Barack Obama, the views of people both blacks and whites from her native city of Cleveland.   It was interesting to me because the views of the people she talked to were pretty much what a lot of Americans has been thinking and how they felt.     There were several things in the article that struck...

One moment I'm in, logged into JU, then I try to comment, I'm out? I go to the Forums, I'm logged in, I search for the article I'm interested in commenting on, I get there and it is fine. I go back to the JU main page, I'm fine.  I click on an article to read and comment, I'm logged out? My blog page is OK too.  But anywhere else, not so?

"It will be a stirring sight to watch President Obama, his wife Michelle and their beautiful girls step through the doors of the White House," George Bush said [article linked above] Good on you President Bush, like John McCain, you are both very gracious in calling for the unity of our country!

I keep hearing people referring to the outcome of this election as the biggest effect because of race.  It is not just because of the Black votes, although that helped, but let us not forget that the Black race is no longer the top minority in this country, in terms of numbers, even today.  It is also not because of the so called "White consience", though many like to believe this. Let us also not forget that the real reason the Republicans didn't have a sweep is because of what ...

I'm laughing at myself now, but I was fuming a bit an hour ago! I still love the library, but they can be a lot of pain when it comes to charging fees!   Remember those dvds and books I mentioned in my other article....? Yeah, I received a phone call, right after I wrote the other one (though my views still remains!) my daughter had a missing disk in one of her returns.  I usually check the cases, but being in a hurry, I forgot to do that this time!   I still had time ...

After picking up my son from school, I told him I was going to stop at the library because his sister has books that are due today, and we both have DVDs to return as well.  We ran inside of the library after finding parking, which took a few minutes longer than usual, apparently because of voter registration, and it being the last day in our state for voting registration, so many people were trying to get registered before 10pm tonight. Anyway, my son said, "Who borrows books anymore...

You know those stories, you've had them read to you as a child, seen the movies, read the novels when you grew up...."and they live happily ever after".  Is that an illusion, a lie, are we trying to make an illustion reality?  Shouldn't we really not give that illusion to our little impressionable ones? Hmmm....I do like the , love, love, LOVE the ideal of "happily ever after", and why not?  Why shouldn't we?  I love romance, love the feeling that being in love mak...

Exactly how honest are you on your blogs?  That is not a rhetorical question and that is not because someone lied to me or I caught someone in a lie.  This is a truly honest question!  People do make things up, don't they?  Sometimes I wonder do they really feel this way? How do I know that is the truth?  Why should they lie?  I guess I have no choice but to take them at face value, we all do right?   But I'm getting away from my point in this article, I ...
