I have lived in a gated apartment community, for quite a while now. We have gotten to know some of our neighbors over the years.  Some are really nice and some are not so nice!  Those not so nice ones we stay away from.  There are some that are users, meaning they are more interested in what they can get from you, rather than the friendship; and there are some that are the "Hi, how are you, nice weather" type; as well as those that you don't mind doing a favor for,...

I have always wanted to take CPR but  have never gotten around to it, all these years.  Ever since giving birth, I was always afraid of not being prepared were something to happen that would require me to give my child/children mouth to mouth, thank heavens, knock on wood...nothing! I am able to take the class because of work and jumped at the opportunity.  My son did a class this week via his high school and that is good that they offer that!  I had forgotten that my ...

Some of my sidebar links work, some do not.  I have updated the ones that just doesn't seem to work and yet I get the same thing when I click on one or two of the links....I don't get the blog site I want to read! Please fix this or let me know what I'm  not doing to make it right?   Having the sidebar is the easiest way for me to find some of my favs and it has been hard to for a while now.

Amanda and I did it, we completed the 3 Mile-trek for the American Heart Association walk this morning!   It was wonderful to see so many people walking in support of such a good cause.  So many in memory of a loved one or friends who died, or survived!      We had a great turn out in Loch Haven Park in Orlando today and we had fun!  Poor Amanda had a bit of a hard time halfway through but she toughed it out and finally, the FINI...

Yesterday we went with my husband to one of his Ping Pong Tournaments out of town. The kids and I were pretty much in once we found out it was going to be near the beach! It was loads of fun!  <embed width="448" height="361" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" src=" http://i190.photobucket.com/remix/player.swf?videoURL=http%3A%2F%2Fvid190.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fz249%2FForeverSerenity2003%2F821d1cb9.pbr&amp;hostname=stream190.photobucket.com ">

It's embedded in our memories a day that will never be forgotten let us continue to pray for this great nation of ours our politics might devide us but our loyalty shall always unite us!   In memory of that fateful day, I add a link to a poem I wrote last year.

I have signed up to do a 5 K walk - that's 3 miles, or so I'm told, for the American Heart Association of Greater Orlando. This walk takes place on September 20 at Lochhaven Park. I'm looking forward to it, with some trepidition too since I've not been consistent with my work out but I am determined to do and I will! So, I'm trying to raise $100, which is my own personal goal since the regular goal of $300 is kind of high for some people to donate these days!   If you would like...

I can't imagine going to a church or being a member of a church where they tell you that if you don't tithe, you go straight to hell, or someting like that!  I am aware that there are some churches who do force their members to tithe, I think that is wrong. There are also those out there, who if they don't force memebers to tithe, they dictate how much money their members should give to them.  I also think that is wrong. When I was a regular member at a church, I did tithe, ...

Are you spoilt?    Have you become so used to the basic luxuries of life that without them, you would not be able to exist?  What, if anything, do you consider Essentials in or to your life? [i.e., Except that which you MUST have in order to exist - Oxygen]   What are your basic luxuries?   I have been following the weather and all the flooding and after effects of the different thurnderstorms, hurricanes, and also remembering other conditions, ...

I realise something the other day.  I don't feel as connected to my faith as I used to be.  I asked myself how did I get that way?  Is it because I don't go to church as often as I used to, which was, not every sunday, but not just on holidays!  No. Is it because I don't pray as often as I usually do?  Well, I still pray, any and everywhere. So no. Is it because I don't read my bible as often as I used to?  I don...

Meet Eddie, the newest member of our family.  He is one year old and was saved from being killed by my daughter and her boyfriend who adopted him from the pound.  He has been nutured, and has a chip in place.  He has all his shots and is a very healthy dog!  I love Eddie, we got along quite well when he visited us when we got together to celebrate his uncle's birthday, (my son)lol!  He followed me everywhere I turned in my apartment!  He is well...

Amanda surprised me tonight.  Every night we read together before I put her to bed.  No one else, not even her dad can do it (she won't have it), I have to do and it is one of our rituals that I enjoy.  Well, tonight, she read one of the stories we have read before, to me.   Word for word, for the most part, with a few stumble here and ther, which is quite normal!   But she is six and she read on her own and I am so proud of her!  I gave her a big hug and...
