How do you shake someone’s hand? Are you a limp wet fish? Do you do one of those fancy palm slides and coded finger shakes or do you give a nice firm handshake? I hope for you it is the latter, unless it’s your bud or a nephew or niece of course! Personally, I give a firm handshake because I hate the limp wet fishes! I like to eat my fish, not give or even receive it in a handshake! In my job I’m at the front desk. I’m the first person you see when you walk into my department, I ...

I don’t know if many of you realize it but in Florida we have Winter weather too. When it is good, it’s really nice. There’s a nice coolness to the temperature that is actually quite refreshing after experiencing many days of 98 degrees are higher! In fact, quite a few Floridians, especially the transplanted ones from up North, usually don’t mind the chill we experience during the months of November and February! Everyone, especially the stylish people, will step out in their tal...

There was a time when we used to eat, sleep, play and enjoyed anything we wanted without worry about what it was made of, would it make us fat, damage the environment in anyway or even did an animal died for us to have it! Truthfully speaking, even before all the animal rights business came about, I hated the thought of any animals being hurt in order for us to have the latest makeup or use of any medicines. (Although there are animals that are bred for this purpose, and scientists have foun...

Let me tell you, I've not completed my shopping yet. Truthfully I've been shopping here and there, mostly bargain hunting too for what I've done so far, there are really some great sales out there this year and that's a good thing! I've not completed shopping for my kids, just other people's kids!LOL! In fact, my son's stuff, so far what he wanted, all done. I'm going to add a surprise or two for him though and he enjoys it when I do that! I try to think of the quirkiest gifts that h...

Today someone stopped by my desk to tell me thank you because I participated in the adopting children for Christmas from a list that was sent around our building. I had selected two children and bought what they wanted for Christmas. Mind you I selected children who didn't want anything too outlandish or who wanted what I could comfortably afford to buy. I actually even had a problem finding one item for one of the kids and substituted something else. I was a bit embarrassed by what the ...

It's 12:50am and I'm sitting here with the TV on. I'm tuned in to Channel 57 because I was watching Project Runway which has ended. There is a new season of the Janice Dickinson Modeling Agency on - I know, she's a nutcase and I say that very lightly. At least this season she's not as nuts as she was during the first season! One of her models from last season has returned, and she said the girl is too fat! Let me tell you, this girl is gorgeous! She has not once ounce of fat on her ...

Rant on! Sometimes I wonder about people who are declared insane by whatever legal authority. How do they feel? Do they feel anything at all? Do they realise that their lives will never be the same again? Or Are they just so happy to not have to worry about anything at all in this life anymore?! No commitment, no troubles, no appointments, nada, nothing! They live in their own little world, off in la la land! Then I wonder about those people who commit crimes of passio...

I read an article with the title on MSNBC' s The Red Tape Chronicles written by Bob Sullivan . Apparently there is quite a bit of sneakiness, scams in fact, going on whenever consumers order E-books or use their credit cards to pay for services from the Equifax Website. Their credit cards get charged with an innocuous fee of $4.95 or something similar. The charges are usually not above $10 according to the article. Equifax said that their website is safe! A lot of comfort that is...

Last year I wrote about the cost of Christmas Link , at that time the cost was only $18,920! Once again according to those same guys at the PNC Wealth Management, the Christmas Price Index is up once again by 3.1% and the increase is because of a couple of things: Gold trading at $840 per ounce! Since the federally mandated minimum wage increase, unskilled milkmaids now receive about $46.80 an hour! So "eight maids a milking" is quite costly these days! [of course they duly noted...

Liz Pulliam Watson offers up some good advice for those of us who wants to take it, about being frugal for Christmas, if there's such a thing! There are many who will go all out as they usually do, why, because it's Christmas of course! But there are things we can do and many ways we can hold off on going over our budget for the holidays! In an article entitled Have a tightwad's Christmas on msn.com/money, Ms. Watson suggested the following: First off to try something new! We...

I was reading the latest issue of Metropolis , the Architectural and Design magazine. On cover is a picture of a 152-story (floors) building in Dubai, 152 floors and they hadn't finished building it yet! This building is called the Burj and it will be the world's tallest building when it is completed! Two articles caught my eye in this month's issue, Notes - Educating the Next Wave, by Susan S. Szenany and Beyond the Spectacle by Stephen Zucks . Ms. Szenany's artic...

Note to reader, these are observations, and my opinions. There are no finger pointing! Blogging is quite an interesting thing to do isn't it? We all do it and we are here because it is a past time we do enjoy. For some people, due to health issues or otherwise, blogging is sometimes the only interaction they might have with other folks on a daily basis. Anyone on a blog site get to know each other, their idiosyncrasies, style, likes, dislikes, etc., stuff happens, shit happens, ...
