I've been meaning to write about this and kept putting it off. I just want to say one thing, My God, the God that I know about, that I've learnt about since I could think on my own, the God that my parents loved and the God that I know exist in my lifetime, IS A FORGIVING GOD. Despite what all the different churches and their rules and policies and all the 'stuff' that they do preach and practise, HE IS A FORGIVING GOD. And if I being a part of a religious denomination doesn't tea...

My boss carries a bag that is very much like a purse. It’s the ‘man’ purse. He gets teased about it but he, being the jovial fellow he is, takes it in stride. It’s gray on the outside and on the inside it has a deep maroon color he refers to as a ‘manly burgundy’! LOL! It was a gift from his wife and he attends a lot of meetings and likes it because of all the compartments and he’s able to fit his portfolio and everything in it. No briefcase for him, the man purse is much better to car...

I found out earlier this week that one of my nephews (on my hubby’s side), who is 11 years old is almost deaf. He was having trouble hearing, couldn’t hear when his mom talked to him, and it was just chalked down to he’s being a kid and just not listening and doing the kid thing of doing things in his own time. Well, on a recent school nurse/doctor exam, you know the type they do in public school to test the kids hearing and sight, they discovered that he was practically deaf. Upon follo...

I'm trying to follow the news now, but a small plane crashed into a bldg at 72nd street. So far no indication of terrorism. I hope not! Link

I’ve just seen the oddest looking toupee` that was not ‘seen on television’ rather, in real life. It’s quite obvious that it is one, because it’s sitting kind of gingerly on the man’s head! Do you want to know what the worse thing of all is? His toupee` has a comb over! Yes, it sits on his head, rather gingerly, as if to say, ‘Man get me off of here!’ And then there’s the side part with a comb over. I know it’s difficult when you lose your hair. It makes you feel as if you’re re...

I'm making an effort to make time in order to exercise daily. Before it was at least three times during the week, plus my Power Saturdays. Then three time turned into two, then once, then it was not doing anything for two weeks, until last Saturday. So I'm going to try my darndest to carve out time during my daily activities in order to workout. I'm going to be selfish and take the time for me. As a mom it's not an easy thing to do. During the day at work, it's even harder. However, ...

Deja vu, could you be the dream that I once knew, is it you? Dionne Warwick It's been a day of deja vu for me. I could tell what would happen next and it was a bit weird. I almost thought I would go to bed and wake up again doing the same thing all over again, like Bill Murray in Groundhog Day. It's weird when there are days like this [Ha! That made me think of that song "my momma said there would be days like this"] _______________________ I'm tired right now. It's been a long...

What the heck is going on out there in vegetable land? First the Spinach had ecoli, now the lettuces might be contiminated too? I've not eaten any Spinach recently and have been eating lettuces. I also buy the California ones too because that's the kind the big W carries! What's a person to do if you can't rely on these growers to keep your vegetables safe? I guess it's mustard greens and kales all around for a while. Here's a link to the sorry details. Link

That's an odd name for a movie. Odd but interesting. I was just watching Clive Owens in Derailed. I've been wanting to see that movie for a while now. I even taped it on my DVR (TIVO's unrelated cousin) and it's been sitting there waiting for me to watch, but alas, between work, and my family life, I've been unable to watch it. So tonight when I was channel surfing, [yikes, make that last night, I didn't realise the time!] I bumped into Clive's broad shoulders, took one look in those ey...

I really enjoy this past-time, that's why I've stuck around. The people I've met online also play a key role in making blogging enjoyable. I'm glad some of you are still here! There are some things however, that I've noticed, that are making the blog experience not so fun anymore. Oh yea, before I begin, let me do my courtesy disclaimer, these are observations and not because of something that happened to me. My head is not that big !LOL! My list might be a bit random so excu...

Hmmmm, I'm smelling my delicious rice I have cooking right now. My favourite type of rice to cook on Sundays is Rice and Peas, some culture call it something else. For Jamaicans it's Rice and Peas and we make it with any type of peas; red, black, pink, gungu ( I think that has another name you might recognize but I can't remember it right now) or black-eyed. You add a little coconut milk, it comes in the tin (or can as you guys say) and you only need to use a tad of it, too much means too...

I missed out on 'me' time and my Power Saturday last week and the week leading up to then I didn't even work out once! The same this week, no workout at all. I have been so busy that I couldn't make time for myself and I was feeling it! So today I made sure I did take some time for me. It wasn't as powerful as I've always done, man you drop the ball and you begin to feel the difference in your body and your movements. I went directly to the gym and worked out for 20 mins on the treadmi...

Wal-Mart stores in Florida are doing an innovative thing, at least to consumers they are. As of today, you can buy some generic prescriptions for only $4! Yep, dirt cheap in the minds of consumers who need these medications and have been burning a hole in their pockets for decades! Innovative and a life saving to consumers, cut throat and a nightmare to other drug stores. The local stores, Walgreens, CVS and Target are not happy about what Wal-Mart is doing. Once again the big guy (...

My little one is five today. Five! Finally! She has been looking forward to her birthday all year! She's been singing about it and badgering me everyday about turning five. I can't blame her. For children, having a birthday is such an exciting event. They enjoy being the center of attention, completely, for one entire day! Who wouldn't like that?! So she chose to wear her purple velvet dress and black shoes today instead of sneakers and jeans. I did her hair with pretty bubbles ...
