Happy Earth Day folks! We celebrate this wonderful earth and learn new ways to keep her environmentally safe and around for many generations to come. I've always enjoyed the fact that Earth day and my birthday are on the same day! Happy Birthday to me! Today I celebrate my 40th year on this beautiful earth. I’m happy to be around, healthy and kicking! No ailments, no diseases, just living my life and loving my family. I never imagined that my parents would not be around...

So finally, the USDA had decided to come up with more realistic guides to food for the benefit of Americans. There are now, 12, that's 12 food pyramids! Yep, I hear tell that these food pyramids are a lot more versatile and will fit anyone's dietary level. I say good for them. I've downloaded the entire document, all 84 pages! It's in Adobe Acrobat format and will peruse at my own leisure to see what they've come up with. For anyone interested I'm putting the link to the article ...

I’m kinda getting sick of the phrase, “French women don’t get fat”. I mean, why the heck not? Who do they think they are? Now, I have nothing against the French, despite the obvious antagonistic stuff they do from time to time. I like the language a lot, I just love the way they speak. One of my best friends is French, although she’s also, part Jamaican, part Belgian, part Asian. So I have absolutely no malice against the French. But whenever Americans and their weight problems are ...

Without realizing it, I’ve already written my 100th blog! I’ve seen so many people celebrate the achievement of their 100th with wit and grace and words of praise. I can only hope to do the same with such panache! Before I reached that milestone, I thought about what I would say, but alas, I wrote something else for the 100th. So, my 102nd blog, I will use to celebrate this milestone of my life as I know it. I’ve often think of blogging as an addiction of sorts, it really is not....

“This is a message Pay attention I got something to say It’s not a conversation This is my own world too….” These are the words of singer Anastacia from her Freak of Nature CD, song #3, Overdue Goodbye I love this CD. It just says so much that I can relate to. When I’m down I listen to it and I sing (out of tune, but who cares) and I scream and I turn it up loud and really belt it out! It’s a wonderful way to make myself feel better. I totally recommend i...

Women are such fantastic beings. We’re intuitive, loving, and classy; many of us are very independent; we are wives, girlfriends, lovers, mothers, daughters, sisters, all of the in-laws, aunts, and every other list on the relative chain. The list of who we are and what we are about is so long and so vast that it is too many to list here. There are always some sayings about women, one that get repeated a lot is, “Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned” which really reads, if a woman d...

JillUser and someone else recently posted articles about being happy; and about hiding behind a mask. I can't for the life of me remember who (Sugar?)posted the article about the masks (I'm sorry) so no link to that one. That said, those two articles got me thinking so I hope you don’t mind me tagging along on your thoughts, with just a twist. Here's a link to Jill's article: Link People go through different experiences in life. They have different feelings and react differently to...

I was watching a television show, just one of my recreational activities watching the telly, and there was a movie – I didn’t see the title of it – on FX staring John Travolta he played a character named George . I won’t go into the details of the movie but at some point in the movie after a birthday celebration, he left to go home, he was drunk. While he was outside he saw this bright light in the sky and it suddenly came towards him and struck him, like being struck by lightning. W...

1. We got off the Titanic first. 2. We can scare male bosses with the mysterious gynecological disorder excuses. 3. Taxis stop for us. 4. We don't look like a frog in a blender when dancing. 5. No fashion faux pas we make, could ever rival the Speedo. 6. We don't have to pass gas to amuse ourselves. 7. If we forget to shave, no one has to know. 8. We can congratulate our teammate without ever touching her rear end. 9. We never have to reach down every s...

A man is driving along a highway and sees a rabbit jump out across the middle of the road. He swerves to avoid hitting it, but unfortunately the rabbit jumps right in front of the car. The driver feels so awful that he begins to cry. A beautiful blonde woman driving down the highway sees a man crying on the side of ...

On Sunday morning I got up and made breakfast as usual, and I went into the bedroom to ask my husband a question about cooking. He was watching the news and they were talking about phedophiles and mentioning the recent crimes of a few. They were also talking about whether these men deserve a second chance or being locked away for ever. Then he told me that yesterday while we were in Wal-Mart, he went to check on our 10 year old, who loves to go to the toy section to look at toys and also...
